Arab Islamic American Summit to align cooperation

Leaders representing Arab and Islamic
states from around the world will meet with US President Donald Trump in Riyadh,
Saudi Arabia on 21 May to renew their collective commitment to confronting the
threat of violent extremism and global terrorism.
Taking place during the historic Riyadh Summit, the highly anticipated Arab Islamic
American Summit will focus on the issues of security and stability and reaffirm the
urgent need for closer cooperation and moderation to defeat terrorism around the
world.
“Leaders of Arab and Islamic nations and the United States recognize the
importance of strong and enduring partnerships to confront the threat of violent
extremism. We share the same objectives in fighting terrorism and we are trying to
inoculate our people against extremism leading to violence,” said HE Adel al-Jubeir,
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Saudi Arabia.
“There are many who try to find gaps between the policy of the United States and
that of Saudi Arabia, but they will never succeed. The position of President Trump,
and that of Congress, is completely aligned with that of Saudi Arabia. We agree on
Iraq, Iran, Syria and Yemen. Our relationship is on an upward trajectory.
“We believe that a reduced U.S. presence in the world, and in the region, results in
the vacuum being filled by the forces of evil. The legacy of this summit is a pivotal
moment in opening a new dialogue between east and west promoting tolerance and
isolating those who claim that there is animosity between Islam and the world.”
President Trump will hold talks with Saudi Arabia’s leadership while he is in the
Kingdom with the aim of deepening bilateral trade ties to drive economic growth and
create jobs, as well as developing significantly increased cooperation in areas of
global security.
President Trump will meet leaders from more than 50 nations at the Arab Islamic
American Summit to discuss ways to cooperate against the threat of global terrorism
and violent extremism. The Global Counter Extremism Center in Riyadh will also be
inaugurated during the visit.

Additionally, the President will attend a summit with representatives of all six Gulf
Cooperation Council states at which issues of trade, security and cultural ties will be
discussed.
A high-level Saudi-US CEO Forum will be held in Riyadh to coincide with the
President’s visit at which more than 90 business leaders of American and Saudi
Arabian companies will discuss mutual investment opportunities and partnerships to
create jobs and drive econom
